METHOD OF BILLING OF TAXES / CHARGES LEVIED BY CANTONMENT BOARD, BABINA
AND MODE OF PAYMENT.
The Cantonment Board Babina has levied the following taxes/charges :

Building & Land Tax
(2)
Water Tax
(3)
Trade & Profession Tax
(4)
Water Charges
(5)
Vehicle Tax
(6)
Animal Tax
The
process of billing of above taxes as mentioned as Sl.No.1 to 6 start from 1st
April to 30th June of each year and the payment are to be made by the
public within 30 days of the receipt of the above bills in cash either at
Cantonment Board office or through Demand Draft/Cheques/Money Orders or sent by
registered post to the Cantonment Executive Officer, Cantonment Board, Babina.
If the Tax payee does
not clear the dues of taxes within the stipulated period of 30 days a demand
notice including D.N. fees for Rs. 2/- for each tax except water charges giving
further period of 30 days for clearance of the dues/taxes is issued to the
defaulting tax payers.
If still the tax payer does not clear the dues, the recovery of the dues
is sent to the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Jhansi as required under
section 259 of the Cantonment Act 1924 for recovery of the dues.
If the
individual does not clear the dues after receiving the demand notice
within the period mentioned in the notice the recovery may also be done
through distress warrants as required under section 93 of Cantonment Act
1924 at the discretion of the Cantonment Executive Officer.
If the individual does not clear the dues on account of water charges
within the period as mentioned in the bill, orders to disconnect the water
connection of the said building/house shall be issued and reconnection can
not be done until the past dues are not cleared by the individual
concerned along with payment of disconnection and reconnection charges for
each water connection.
If the dues are still not cleared by the individual a recovery under
section 259 of the Cantonment Act 1924 is sent to the CJM, Jhansi or the
dues may also be recovered through distress warrant as required under
section 93 of the Cantonment Act 1924 at the discretion of the C.E.O.
As regards the vehicle, animals and dog, the token for the same are
issued by the Cantonment Board Office on payment of requisite fee/charges
i.e. Rs. 5/- per dog and Rs. 10/- per dog, in case person keeping two or
more dogs and Rs. 4/- per cycle token. The validity of the token is from 1st
April to 31st March of the year for which the same are
pertains.
It is the duties of citizens/residents, who are having vehicles and the
dogs in the Cantonment area to purchase the tokens every year on payment
of requisite amount in the Cantonment Board, Babina. If any person is
found having vehicles and keeping dogs without prescribed token, he may be
penalized for the same by the Cantonment Executive Officer as per the
provisions of Cantonment Act 1924 and the rules/bye-laws made there under. |
